Leading law firm in NYC is seeking a Transactional Practice Technology Manager

The Transactional Practice Technology Manager will report to the Senior Manager of Strategic Projects in the Knowledge Department and will support the use of new technologies – in particular AI-enabled due diligence review tools and document automation tools – in transactional practices at the Firm. This role will be based in our New York office.  

Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree required; Juris doctor and/or law-related degree a plus. Technology or business degrees considered with extensive practical experience in legal applications.  8+ years of professional experience in a law firm, legal department or legal technology company required.

Experience in implementation of various legal technology solutions, including automation tools (such as ContractExpress, Exari or HotDocs) and AI-enabled due diligence review tools (such as Kira, eBrevia, Seal or Luminance) required.

Understanding of the typical transactional practice workflows and processes including due diligence review, matter/deal management, closing checklists, etc. required.

Expertise in standard business software applications such as Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required; expertise in data analytics platforms (such as Tableau, QlikView, or Microsoft PowerBI) a plus.

Responsibilities

Assist with the evaluation and selection of new technologies; serve as primary point-of-contact for vendors:

Consult with and advise lawyers, legal staff and clients regarding the most effective use of technology in their transactional matter (e.g., options for managing closing workflows, automating tasks, the use of AI-enabled document review tools, the emergence of blockchain, etc.).

Manage the implementation, roll-out and adoption phases of transactional practice technologies:

Coordinate and collaborate with all other business services teams including the Firm's technical staff and procurement to ensure that practice solutions are appropriately integrated with Firm systems, processes and data.

Assist with testing new technology and provide feedback to project teams and vendors.

Develop and promote best practices in the use of AI-enabled and automation technologies by the practice teams.

Support the use of legal technology in specific transactional client matters and interact with matter teams, including Partners, Associates and Legal Assistants to define project scope and priorities.

Coordinate with product vendors to manage updates, upgrades and other changes.

Collect and analyze usage and other system metrics to recommend changes and enhancements based on the data.

Salary up to 150k.
